To use our driver platform, you must provide the following documents to ensure that you are in compliance with local ordinance. It is your responsibility to constantly keep all documents up-to-date and upload them on our platform 48 hours before expiration date. Failure to follow such procedure will result in your account being automatically blocked until pertinent documents are resubmitted.

Driver Requirements

The following conditions must be met in order to use our platform as a driver:

  Be at least 25 years old with three years of licensed driving experience

  Hold a valid commercial U.S. driver’s license. If you reside in a different country such as India for example, you must possess a driver’s license of that country/state

  Pass a three-hour defensive driving class

  Have at least two years of licensed driving experience if you are older than 30 years of age

  Pass a criminal background check

  Have a clean driving record with no major traffic violations within the past 3–5 years

Vehicle Requirements

Your car must:

  Not be older than 5 years, which may vary based on your country of residence and local regulations

  Have acclimatized air (AC)

  Have 4 doors and at least 5 seat belts

  Be without any dents, scratches or physical damage and in excellent working condition

  Display in-state license plates. Temporary license plates are accepted if your car is a new purchase

  Be fully covered by auto insurance that meets state requirements

Required Documentation to Upload

  Picture front and back of your valid driver’s license

  Vehicle registration

  Personal auto insurance

  Current Vehicle inspection form

  A recent clear profile photo without sunglasses, cap, hat, or hood

  Any other city or state-specific permits as required by local regulations

  Upon approval of your credentials, Nukwik will send you a small sticker, which must be affixed on your vehicle windshield at all times except when not in service

Guidelines

 

Below is our guideline that outlines the duties, responsibilities, compliance, and expectations from you when using Nukwik Driver App. To use our Driver App, you must adhere to the following protocols:

  You are to use our Driver App for all ride-related tasks when a request is made through our app. Our app has its own navigation system. You are to use it for pickup/drop-off, and earnings.

  You are to accept or decline ride requests promptly in a courteous.

  To accept a ride and drive with passengers with Nukwik app turned off is not authorized unless permission is granted to you by a dispatcher. 

  You are to track your earnings for each ride, bonuses, and tips within our app or your bank account.

Responsibilities Regarding Taxes & Financials

  You have agreed to use our platform as an independent contractor/driver, and not as an employee. It is your responsibility to report your own yearly income to the IRS. Your accountant can fill out your year-end 1099 form for you if your income threshold is met. Please read Important Tax Information Threshold section below.

You are to keep track of the following:

  Mileage and fuel

  Maintenance expenses

  Phone bills (if used for rideshare)

 

Golden Rules for Success

  It is best to keep your driving rating in good standing. A score of 9 out 10 is considered excellent, whereas 6 out 10 is classified as poor.

  Always keep your car in spotless condition. That shows you respect yourself and your riders.

  You can offer basic necessities such as, phone charger, adjusting AC temperature according to rider’s preference, and/or ask rider preferred radio station. 

  Maximize your income by driving during peak hours.

  Communicate professionally with passengers.

  Avoid cancellations unless absolutely necessary.

Safety & Support

  Nukwik has real-time 24/7 critical response via its app.

  In any emergency, it is best to call 911 first, then contact our support dispatcher.

  You must notify your passengers that your Dashcam remains active at all times whenever a passenger is in your vehicle and inform that rider of the recording, which will be archived for 12 months.

Inappropriate Behavior

  Using someone else’s credential, vehicle, or account to accept rides is unacceptable under any circumstances.

  To discriminate against any passengers based on hair style, race, gender, disability, ethnic dress codes, languages or accent is unacceptable.

  To request tips or forcing passengers to rate you highly is considered coercion. Such behavior will result in your account being suspended.

  Constantly checking your vehicle’s condition is essential, such as, brakes, tires, and lights, fuel and wash vehicle as deemed necessary, and so on.

Essential Tax Information

  You are obligated to file your own taxes as self-employed individuals.

  You must report your earnings to the IRS even if your net earnings from Nukwik are less than $300 after business expenses deductions.

  Nukwik will send you a 1099-K if your gross earning is $3,000 or more in ride payments, which includes commission and fees. You are to keep a log of these business expenses or fees and report them on Schedule C. It is best to consult your accountant to assist you with filing report.

  You may download from your drver dashboard a 1099-NEC report if you earned $500 or more from business activities, such as bonuses.

  A summary of your yearly earnings, expenses, mileage, tips and bonuses is available online within your Nukwik driver dashboard account Tax section.

  Since you are considered a sole proprietorship, you will deduct your business expenses on this form to calculate your net profit on Schedule C.

  If your net earnings are $400 or more, you'll use this form to calculate your Social Security and Medicare taxes as self-employment.

  If you expect to owe at least $1,000 in taxes, you are to report quarterly estimated tax payments by using Form 1040-ES.

  You are required to report all your Nukwik earned income to the IRS, whether you receive a 1099 form or not.

  Nukwik does not withhold taxes from your driving self-employed earnings. It is your responsibility to save at least 30% percent from your income for tax purposes.
