Driver Protocols

Driver Protocols

As a driver providing transportation services to the general public, you have responsibilities toward yourself and to those within your vehicle. The following protocols are expectations, behaviors, or standards that define how you should conduct yourself, interact with passengers and follow operational procedures.

Essential Points of Driver Protocols

Customer Service:

o You are expected to be courteous, respectful, and helpful. You should greet passengers politely and be willing to assist with luggage if necessary.

o Your vehicle must be well maintained as to cleanliness and ensure it is comfortable for all passengers.

Safety and Regulations:

o You are expected to ensure that all passengers are safely wearing seatbelts.

o Traffic rules must be obeyed, including speed limits; you must avoid dangerous driving behavior and not use your vehicle while impaired.

o You are required to have specific insurance coverage in case of accidents and to be current.

Pricing and Payment:

o You must adhere to the regulated fare structure as set forth by our platform. Fares are calculated based on distance, time, and sometimes traffic conditions.

o You are required to provide receipts for passengers upon request.

o Drivers should accept payment, such as credit/debit cards unless expired, and follow the system protocols set forth by Nukwik, LLC platform.

Routes and Navigation:

o You are expected to use our own reliable GPS or other navigation tools to find the quickest or most efficient route to the passenger's destination. However, in some locations, you are encouraged to avoid taking unnecessarily long routes.

App Usage:

o You must not use the app while driving to track ride requests. Usage of the app is to navigate to the pickup location, and confirm that the passenger is in the vehicle.

o You are expected to have local knowledge of the area, including shortcuts and how to avoid traffic jams or road closures.

Personnel Belongings:

o You are to inspect your car after each drop-off. If a passenger leaves behind his or her belonging in your vehicle, you are to call the dispatcher immediately.

Rating System:

o You and your passengers should rate each other after a trip. You are expected to maintain a good rating by providing excellent service.

Communication:

o You should communicate clearly and respectfully with passengers, especially in regard to directions or any delays. Under no circumstances, while in the presence of passengers, should foul language(s) be used toward your passengers and someone else or speak in another language to anyone, dialect or not, that is foreign to the passengers.

o You, the driver, must be prepared to handle complaints calmly and professionally. In many cases, you may be required to report any issues to a dispather immediately.

Ride Request and Dispatch Protocols:

o Drivers must follow the established method of accepting ride requests, either through a dispatcher or our app.

o When accepting a ride request, the driver should be punctual in arriving at the pickup location. You are expected for your vehicle to be ready to provide ready and should not stop to fill up your gas tank unless this is a long distance ride. Stopping to buy food, playing music, using your cell phone unless calling a dispatcher for assistance, or speaking with anyone not related to your service is unacceptable, inappropriate and unprofessional.

o Should you have to make to make an emergency stop due to a flat tire or other malfunction, you are required to call a dispatcher, cancel the ride immediately, inform the rider that his next ride with Nukwik will be discounted by 25%, and request another ride for the passenger(s). All passengers are to remain in your vehicle for their safety, except in unusual circumstances (e.g. vehicle on fire).

Dressing Code:

o The dressing code for all drivers is important as it plays an important role in creating a professional image, building trust with passengers, and ensuring safety. While specific guidelines may vary by countries, region or culture, there are general standards that are expected from you as a driver.

Here's a guideline of what your professional driver’s attire should be:

Uniforms:

o You are not required to wear uniforms. o Whether or not uniforms are provided, it's important that your clothing is clean, well-pressed, and free of stains or wrinkles.

o Neutral or professional colors (like black, navy, or white) are often preferred to keep the appearance formal and tidy.

Casual Professional Attire:

o Collared shirts, polo shirts, or smart t-shirts are commonly worn. The shirt should be clean, tucked in, and not overly casual. Example, A simple button-up shirt or a neat polo shirt can work well.

Trousers:

o Drivers should wear clean, well-fitted trousers or pants (such as khakis, dress pants, or dark jeans).

o Avoid shorts, torn jeans, or overly casual pants that might give a disheveled impression.

Footwear:

o Comfortable yet professional shoes are a must. Closed-toed shoes such as dress shoes, loafers, or clean sneakers are ideal.

o Avoid flip-flops, sandals, or worn-out shoes.

Weather-Appropriate Clothing:

o In colder climates, drivers are expected to use outerwear like a professional-looking jacket or coat. It should be clean and appropriate for the weather while maintaining a neat appearance. Example, a smart winter coat or jacket that complements the outfit is ideal.

o During hot weather, short-sleeve shirts or polo shirts are acceptable, but they should still look polished. Avoid tank tops or overly casual t-shirts.

Personal Grooming and Hygiene:

o Drivers should maintain good personal hygiene, including clean hands, face, and well-kept hair.

o Hair should be neatly styled, and facial hair (if any) should be trimmed and tidy.

o A light, neutral scent (like deodorant or cologne) is recommended. Avoid strong perfumes or aftershaves that may be overpowering for passengers.

Accessories:

o If you feel like it, wearing a name tag, but not required, is a great way to personalize your interaction and make passengers feel more comfortable.

o A simple watch can add a professional touch without being too flashy.

o No Overly Flashy Accessories: Avoid wearing excessive jewelry or accessories that could distract from the overall professional appearance.

Tidy Vehicle and Personal Appearance:

o Though not specifically related to clothing, maintaining a clean and well-organized vehicle is equally important. Passengers expect a comfortable and clean environment, and a well-maintained vehicle complements a professional appearance.

Summary of Do's and Don’ts:

Do's:

o Wear clean, well-maintained clothing.

o Maintain a neat and tidy appearance.

o Opt for simple, professional colors and attire.

o Follow grooming and dress protocols.

o Use minimal but pleasant fragrances.
