Rider Protocols

Rider Protocols

Being a Rider demands of you a set of Protocols that you need to uphold. Our protocols, guidelines, and “rules and regulations”, which you are obliged to read, to familiarize yourself with and accept our terms of agreements, are put in place for you to peruse and to consider as a framework for interaction between you, not excluding your acolytes as in ridesharing, and your driver. The following is a general guide that enumerates essential protocol points:

Requesting a Ride:

o Rider(s) must clearly state their pick-up location and destination when requesting a ride, whether ridesharing or not.

o Rider(s) should use our mobile app or a computer, such as laptops, when requesting a ride.

Pickup Location and Etiquettes during Ride:

o Rider(s) should be punctual and ready at the pick-up location at the agreed time unless inclement weather is an obstacle.

o Rider(s) should always respect the driver’s vehicle, maintain acceptable and civil behavior, and avoid distracting the driver.

o Riders must wear seatbelts for safety as required by law in your city.

Respect and Courtesy:

o Rider(s) should be polite courteous to driver, greeting them when entering the taxi and showing respect throughout the ride.

o Riders should be mindful of the driver's personal space and avoid any inappropriate behavior or invasive conversations.

Payment:

o Rider(s) should ensure they have a valid payment method (credit card or app-based payment) to pay for the ride. Under no circumstances which cash payment for the ride is considered appropriate unless there is a state law that says otherwise. .

o If your city has tipping expectations, either in cash or through the app, you are allowed to do so at your discretion.

 Safety and Respect:

o Rider(s) should always follow local regulations and comply with the driver’s instructions for your safety and his or hers.

o Rider(s) should communicate clearly in case of any special needs (e.g., extra luggage or a specific route preference).

o Rider(s) should avoid distracting the driver by engaging in loud conversations, reaching over to adjust controls, or using their phone in a way that distracts the driver.

Behavior Inside the Vehicle:

o Riders should avoid littering in the vehicle, and if necessary, should clean up after themselves (e.g., removing trash).

o While some taxis allow eating and drinking, it's generally respectful to avoid messy foods or beverages that could spill or cause stains. Always check if eating/drinking is allowed.

o Keeping noise to a minimum (e.g., not speaking too loudly or playing loud music) is appreciated in order to maintain a peaceful environment for both the driver and other passengers.

Communication:

o Riders should provide clear and accurate information about their destination to avoid confusion or delays.

o Riders should check for any personal belongings before exiting the vehicle. If something is left behind, they should contact the driver as soon as possible.

Respect Local Laws:

o Smoking is prohibited in most taxis, especially in areas with laws against smoking in public transport. Riders should respect this rule.

o Riders should not be consuming alcohol or using drugs during the ride, especially if they are in violation of local laws.

o Riders should not engage in any illegal activities during the ride, such as transporting contraband or engaging in inappropriate behavior.

Handling Complaints:

o If a rider has a complaint or issue with the ride, it should be addressed respectfully and calmly with the driver. For serious concerns, the rider can file a complaint with our support department or rideshare service in writing.

Fare Calculation:

o At any time should you argue with the driver about the fare, which is based on factors like distance, time, surge pricing, or your specific rider preferences.

Rating and Feedback:

o Once the ride is complete, both the rider and the driver can rate each other through our app, which can be used at a later date to offer you discounts for your next ride and future interactions. Riders should provide honest, respectful feedback based on the quality of service.

In Summary:

o Our Rider Protocol is about ensuring mutual respect and cooperation between the passenger and the driver. By following these basic principles, riders can help create a safe, efficient, and pleasant experience for both themselves and the driver.
